Tython was a planet in the Deep Core that, according to some accounts, was the birth place of the Jedi Order. The Jedi operated a monastery on Tython during the Great Hutt Wars, and it served as the Order's central headquarters during the Great Galactic War.
Description[]
Located in the Deep Core, Tython was surrounded by a number of astronomical anomalies, including a black hole and close clusters of star systems. The planet itself was a lush world with a number of villages. Tython had large green forests, which it became known for.[1]
Due to the Jedi having been on the world for thousands of years, the planet did not have a dark side presence. Instead, the influence of the light side gave the planet a peaceful and serene aurora, which in turn influenced its inhabitants.[1]
History[]
Although the Jedi Order was spawned from the Order of the Jedi Bendu after a schism on Coruscant,[2] some historical accounts suggested that Tython was the birth place of the Jedi Order. Sometime prior to the Great Hutt Wars, the Jedi established a monastery on the planet. The astronomical anomalies in the Deep Core provided Tython a degree of protection from the Order's enemies.[1]
Inhabitants[]
By the time of the Great Hutt Wars, the Jedi had been a presence on Tython for thousands of years. These Jedi were made up of various different species. There were also a number of villages on the planet.[1]
