The galaxy was one of the uncountable number of galaxies that existed in the universe. It was the location of organizations such as the Galactic Republic, the Jedi Order, and the Hutt Empire.[2] The galaxy was also the site of a number of conflicts including the Alsakan Crisis,[3] the Great Territorial War, the Clone Wars, and the Galactic Civil War.[1]
The galaxy was divided into a number of regions. These regions included the Core Worlds,[1] the Inner Rim, the Mid Rim, the Outer Rim Territories,[2] and the Unknown Regions.[1] These regions were further subdivided into sectors and systems, a number of which made up the membership of governments such as the Galactic Republic and the Hutt Empire.[1]
