The Star Wars fan community spans worldwide on thousands of internet websites and beyond, some of which includes fan fiction. One of these fan fiction efforts is the Alternative Star Wars Saga. The Alternative Saga was founded in 2008 by fan fiction authors Squishy Vic, Wayne Lipman III, and Brandon Rhea as an effort to re-imagine the Star Wars Saga, similar to successful film re-imaginings like Casino Royale and Batman Begins. The series has a number of novels and is still being written by Rhea and Lipman; Squishy Vic left the project in late 2008.[1]
