Star Wars: The Old Republic is a canon massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by BioWare. The game, an indirect sequel to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, is set during the cold war between the Galactic Republic and the True Sith Empire.
The Old Republic is a canon Star Wars story, but it is also considered canon in the Alternative Star Wars Saga by the Alternative Saga authors. This does not imply or suggest a relationship with, endorsement of, or awareness of the Alternative Saga by the author and publisher of the Alternative Star Wars Saga. The Alternative Star Wars Saga has no relationship with The Walt Disney Company, Lucasfilm Ltd., its subsidiaries, or the makers of any other Star Wars products.
