- "The Star Forge is the glory of the Builders, the apex of their Infinite Empire. It is a machine of invincible might, a tool of unstoppable conquest."
- —The Overseer[src]
The Star Forge was a space station created by the Infinite Empire in 30,000 BBY that served as an automated shipyard in order to produce the most powerful military force in galactic history. The station drew its power from the star it was stationed near, and that power was combined with the energies of the Force, thereby allowing it to create an endless supply of war materials. The Star Forge was built using slaves from worlds including Corellia, Coruscant, Dantooine, Kashyyyk, Manaan, Tatooine, and a number of others.
Due to the inherent cruelty and darkness exhibited by the slaves' Rakatan masters, the Star Forge began feeding off of the negative energies and became a tool of the dark side. It corrupted the Rakata in order to gain more power, ultimately resulting in the collapse of the Infinite Empire. The station was later re-discovered by Darth Revan and Darth Malak, who used it to fuel a war effort against the Galactic Republic, but a redeemed Revan and his followers later destroyed the station.
