The Promised Land was the original homeworld of the Order of the Jedi Bendu, which was founded after Michael led his people, the Ophuchi Tribe, to the planet and took it upon themselves to be the guardians of peace in the galaxy. The location of the world was later lost.[1]
Thousands of years later, during the Jedi Bendu Schism and the subsequent formation of the Jedi Order, those who remained loyal to the Jedi Bendu traditions fled Galactic Republic space in fear of persecution. These loyalists, led by Zios Malachor, returned to the Promised Land, where they formed the Bendu Order and carried on the traditions of the Jedi Bendu.[1]
