Ossus was a planet in the Outer Rim Territories that housed a Jedi Enclave and, for thousands of years, served as the headquarters of the Jedi Order. The Jedi acted as the law enforcement officials of the planet, and a Galactic Republic military staging ground sat near the Jedi Enclave as well. The planet maintained its own planetary defense forces as well, and it was covered with thousands of ground emplacements to protect Ossus from aerial attacks.[1]
The planet's terrain was lush and rugged, with various types of flora and fauna, and two-thirds of the world was covered in water. Millions of people lived in a number of cities throughout the planet, the capital of which was Knossa.[1]
