The military of the Hutt Cartel served the interests of the Hutt Lords throughout the Outer Rim Territories. They fought in the Rim Wars, and later helped the Hutts further oppress the rim worlds that rose up to fight the Hutts. One such planet where they had a strong presence was Tatooine, where they were commanded by Colonel Deacon Darklighter. Although the soldiers there often had little to do, mostly repelling raids by the sand people, the military had crafted its image as a force to be feared so the people did not attempt to rise up against the Hutt Lords again.[1]
