Gungans were a sentient aquatic species indigenous to the planet Utapau, as well as the ruling species of the Gungan Empire. Living primarily in the city of Otoh Gunga beneath the Aquarian Ocean, there were at least two known races of Gungans, Ankura Gungan and Otolla Gungan. The Gungans had strained relationships with the Humans of Utapau, and at one point it culminated in a war.[1]
