Governors were political officeholders who typically oversaw the affairs and workings of single worlds. During the War of the Gods, the Bogan Empire had Governors overseeing its worlds in the Esstran sector, and a Court of Governors was appointed as a collective body.[1] The Hutt Empire also had Counts and Countesses overseeing planets in their territory, and those positions operated similarly to Governors.[3] These Counts and Countesses served on the Hutt Imperial Court.[4]
Thousands of years later, the Hutt Cartel appointed Governors to oversee the worlds it controlled in the Outer Rim Territories. Erlik served as the Governor of Tatooine in 22 BBY.[2]
