Edward Oliver, nicknamed Ols, is a Star Wars fan fiction author and website administrator. He is set to publish his upcoming fiction works on the Star Wars Fanon Wiki and TheStarWarsRP.Com, the later of which he serves as a role-playing administrator for.[3] Ols first became active in the online Star Wars community in January 2008 upon registering at TheStarWarsRP.Com. He was elected as an administrator in Summer 2008.
In Spring 2008, Oliver approached Alternative Star Wars Saga co-founder Brandon Rhea about writing a series spun-off from Star Wars: Episode I - The Chosen One. The two suggested series were about the apprenticeship of Obi-Wan Kenobi under Jedi Master Jard Dooku, and the Alternative Saga version of the Clone Wars. The latter was chosen, and that became the forthcoming Trials of War series, beginning with Star Wars: Trials of War - Shadows of Utapau.[4]
