Darth Mortis was a Human male Dark Lord of the Sith in the True Sith Empire who served as a member of the Dark Council during the Cold War. He killed fellow Dark Lord Darth Thanaton after Thanaton was defeated in combat by the Sith Lord Kallig. Mortis apologized to Thanaton for having to kill him before doing so.[1]

Darth Mortis is a canon Star Wars character created for Star Wars: The Old Republic.[1] A different "Darth Mortis" was a role-playing character created by Laurent Bastien for Great Sovereign Crusades, the second role-playing timeline on TheStarWarsRP.Com.[2] Bastien later re-used the name for a different character in Star Wars Legacies, the fifth timeline on TheStarWarsRP.Com.[3]
