The year 3,956 before the Battle of Yavin (BBY) was a span of time that saw the resolution of the Jedi Civil War. Near the war's end, the flagship of Darth Revan, the Dark Lord of the Sith, was boarded by a Jedi strike team. During the assault, Revan's apprentice, Darth Malak, attacked his master's ship. Believing Revan dead, Malak became Dark Lord in Revan's place, while an amnesic Revan returned to the light and, unknowingly following in his own footsteps, sought to destroy the Star Forge. Revan learned of his true identity and remained with the Jedi Order, and he and his companions destroyed the Star Forge and brought the Jedi Civil War to an end.[1]
